i am busy.

i have a new fulltime job working for a holiday company. i am an office monkey basically but i love it as it has taken me SO long to shake off the shackles of waitressing. fuck you, waistcoat. i get to listen to my ipod all day and drink as much tea as i want and the people are lovely. helped by the fact that alice and howard got jobs there too and farrell is starting tomorrow! little work family. plus its 37 hours a week every week so i know longer have to worry i wont be able to pay rent which is such a huge relief.

anyways. i have been doing fun things when i am not working.
such as being a beefeater:

showing off my BIG GUNS

having crazy amounts of fun with lovely boyfriend

we went to blackpool for the day and went on the shit £1 ghost trains on the promenade and i nearly wept with fear at plastic ravens and glow in the dark masks. I AM HARD.

and i went to his mums farm and got to have a baby chick for a day. win. they sit so happily in your hands and just PEEP PEEP at you.

me and megan have been amusing ourselves by watching old series' of Ab Fab and crying laughing. Oh and on friday we may be getting a cat, which inevitably is going to be called Patsy.

I have been getting too drunk at the social with my extended housemates. we are taking in waifs and strays by the handful. its hectic and a bit messy but lots of fun.

oh and i finally got around to putting up some pictures and my lovely fisheye mirror that was £1.00 from poverty aid. or, if you would prefer, £22 from retro boutique. suckers.

and as well as belfast to see niki at the end of this month, i am now heading to amsterdam (agaaain) in october to see slightly stoopid. AMAZING.

i saw them on my 19th birthday and it was bloody good so i am EXCITED.

my mum met bruce springsteen, sacha baron cohen and tom hanks in ONE DAY on holiday. and its not even like she's gone to hollywood - shes on a sailing holiday in kefalonia?? i dont understand how this happened.

best thing i have learnt in my one week working (vaguely) for the travel industry? in turkey there is a BATMAN AIRPORT. wow.

Off to Ireland. To be sure.

hurray!
i have booked flights to Belfast to see lovely Niki who moved back there from Leeds at the start of Summer and who I miss MILLIONS! She lived in hyde park too and it sucks when i'm bored now not to be able to invite her over to make cheesecake (we are the masters) or go round hers and get so drunk I can't see. LAME. so to rectify this I am gonna go see her in September. I have never been to Ireland before. Or on a plane by myself. how exciting.

We are going to go and see laura marling which is bloody exciting. and bake. and hopefully drink a bottle of gin and dance to Sweet Female Attitude. yes.

fringe chop

cut my fringe so i can see. more or less.

i am not dead

i am just crazy busy working to try and pay my rent which has not left me much time for blogging.

I'm not even making any money for all my efforts as actual waitressing shifts are like gold dust at the minute (because everyone needs the tips) so i am getting lumped with all the other jobs like reception and food running.

i don't mind reception as i get to dress up nice and that means people actually talk to me like i'm a human being because they mistake me for management. Oh also i now get up at 7am every saturday and sunday to clean the toilets and hoover the restaurant. i hate it. Just got paid a paltry £500 for this month, which after rent leaves me with £150 to last me the month. It's do-able, but i need to pay £60 bills. laaaaame. Plus my macbook needs a new cable and battery which is £100, aaaand my mobile phone now doesn't even turn on, so i need to buy a new one. no rush though, i am enjoying being uncontactable for now and i can't afford a new one. WOE IS ME.

ANYWAY. before i stopped having a life, I went on a bloody epic holiday which 3 of my favourite ladies in the world.

CROATIAN FUNTIMES.

We had SO much fun. We travelled round the South coast of beautiful Croatia, staying in Zadar, Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik. We didnt book accomodation anywhere but Dubrovnik, figuring we would play it by ear so we could stay in different places for as long as we wanted. We totally landed on our feet in Split and ended up staying in an amaaazing, dirt cheap apartment, in a ruined old palace.

Hvar was totally jawdropping. One of the top 10 most beautiful islands in the world apparently.

Dubrovnik is also totally perfect, crystal clear waters, old town walls and towers, the air completely full of swallows swooping in and out of old buildings, cracking beaches. cliff top bars which platforms that you can jump off into the sea, it was all just amazing, i miss it so much! Also, fresh seafood and draft beer eeevery day. winner.

photies:

myself, skipping down into old town dubrovnik.

out for seafood risotto and nice wine on the harbour front, for anna's 21st.

anna, josie & I on a cliff-side bar.

In our favourite bar in Split, drinking Ojusko beer and gorging ourselves on squid!

with megan & Josie at dubrovnik harbour

VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS MUTANT CANNIBAL ICE CREAM. horrid.

Relaxing, pre-beach in Hvar. hello, i have massive boobs.

There was an insane tropical storm while we were in Split on the beach.

Josie & I felt the only sensible course of action was to strip and run into the sea.

On the boat to Hvar, with anna.

shrimp & woucester sauce gnocchi. totally amazing.

People hanging the washing out in the old palace we stayed in, in Split

our home sweet home, split.

lovely beach times in Hvar.

poifect!

hvar is insanely beautiful it hurts my eyes

old town dubrovnik

We found an upside down, very panicky tortoise in our garden in dubrovnik. We picked him up and turned him over and he spent the rest of our stay, bumping around the garden being cute and being stalked by a little white kitten. cute overload.

lovelyyy

HELL STEPS. walking down was fine, walking up in that heat broke my spirit, haha.

dubrovnik at night

megan & anna

at night we generally found ourselves some lovely outdoor cocktail bar and settled down to play cards, get nicely drunk, and smoke vanilla cigars because somehow that's okay in europe. cultural even.

My epic action photography skills! Josie & anna's leap of faith.

aww man, i want to go back so badly. but here I sit, in yorkshire, in pouring rain, having just finished one cleaning shift, and waiting to start a reception shift. On the plus side, Callum has moved in which means I have a constant cheer-up committee, who is always available to make me cups of tea, cook me dinner and give me cuddles when I am being especially whiney.

Oh and I graduated with a 2.1, which is pretty awesome. Gutting to know my average was 68.43 when you need 68.5 to get a first but naymind, i guess there has to be a cut off point! over it.

i am going to make a cup of tea and have a little lie down before work again. It's unity day in the park today but it's pissing it down so i am going to nap instead.

Interview

I just had a job interview to run reception for an english language school. I hope I get it, it went well but i'm not sure as i'm off to Croatia from the 24th June to 5th July and I think he wanted me to start on monday.

I never know what to wear for interviews because I don't have any boring, office-y clothes and refuse to buy any, but always feel i should tone down the amount of colours, or cute prints or massive jewellery because it's not the most professional thing in the world, but I would feel weird without it.

This is what I wore:

I was gonna post my London photos and write about Mischief Brew but i've just realised the time and I start my reception shift at the restaurant in like an hour so i'm off to find some food.
